Vijay Matheswaran

Non-Resident Research Fellow - Aerospace

BIO

Vijay Matheswaran is non-resident Research Fellow for Aerodynamics & Renewable Energy at The Peninsula Foundation. He is a doctoral research scholar in aerospace engineering at Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas, USA since January 2017. He specializes in Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics.
He is a College of Engineering PhD Fellowship recipient for the year 2017. His research is focused on development of aerodynamic applications in areas of turbine and body designs as cost-effective solutions for renewable energy generating applications. He has also worked as a Research Assistant for Saab Aeronautics and as a journalist at the Vayu Aerospace and Defence Review.
Vijay completed his Master’s (MS) in Aerospace Engineering in Dec 2016 from Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas and obtained his Bachelor’s (BE) in Aeronautical Engineering in May 2013 from Manipal University, India.
Vijay has been teaching select courses for Undergraduate students since 2015 and for Graduate students since 2017. He is also responsible for operation of and instruction on the 1 x 1.31 m Wind Tunnel at Wichita State University. He redesigned and wrote the code for the Data Acquisition System of the Wind Tunnel and Pressure Scanning Module (in VBA and VB.Net).
Apart from academic positions, he was also the founding director of The Help- Manipal which works with orphanages to provide free English classes to underprivileged kids.
