BIO

Dr. Jeyakar Vedamanickam is a Senior Visiting Fellow at The Peninsula Foundation. Dr. Vedamanickam, having passed out as the top ranker in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Regional Engineering College – Trichy, joined the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. as a Management Trainee. In later career, he shouldered responsibilities in HAL as GM – Aerospace Division (during ISRO’s launch of Mars Orbiter in 2013) and GM (Export Marketing) at HAL.
He serves as a Director on the board of Oasis-India, an NGO that works with disadvantaged communities and to prevent human trafficking. He is also a life member of the Society for Professional Ethics and Management and a life member of Mensa – India.
He was also the Director of XIME (Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship – Bangalore) and CEO of IRAL (Indo Russian Aviation Ltd., a joint venture company between HAL, ICICI, The Joint Stock Company RAC-MiG, and another two Russian companies)
As a Management Scholar he earned his Ph.D. in management from IIT-Bombay researching the subject ‘Workplace Innovativeness in Manufacturing’.
As a Corporate Trainer he has conducted over 350 workshops for senior executives from different professional groups and organisations on ‘Creativity and Innovation’, ‘Strategic Management’, ‘Management of Risk and Uncertainty’ and on several other management topics. His current training interests are in the subject of Behavioural Economics which offers a framework for policy formulation and organisational decision-making.
As an Author and Writer he has published a book, ‘Sculpting Angels: Parenting Lessons to Foster Creativity in Children’ (Partridge Publishing, 2016). He writes short stories in a parenting magazine ‘ParentEdge’ under a feature ‘Life Skills through Games’. He has also published scholarly articles in professional journals such as IDSA’s Journal of Defence Studies.
