BIO

Andrei Vladimir Korobkov – Professor of Political Science and International Relations, Director of the Russian Studies Program at Middle Tennessee State University. In 2015-2018 he also served as the Director of the University’s Master of Arts in International Relations Graduate Program. Korobkov is also the Lead Researcher at the Institute of Socio-Political Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Visiting Researcher at MGIMO University under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow.
He graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, received a Candidate of Science degree after postgraduate studies at the Institute of Economics of the World Socialist System of the USSR Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union, and a Ph. D. in Political Science from the University of Alabama. Doctor of Sciences (Philosophy). Candidate of Sciences (Economics). Korobkov worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute of International Economic and Political Research of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow.
He specializes in geopolitics, nationalism and populism, interethnic relations and migration, including the «brain drain». He is an expert at The Peninsula Foundation (India), the Valdai Club and the Russian International Affairs Council. Member of the editorial boards of the «Social Policy and Sociology», «MGIMO Review of International Relations», «Tractus Aevorum (Russia)», «Moldoscopie» (Moldova) and «The Bulletin of Geography: The Socio-economic Series» (Poland) academic journals.
He teaches courses in Russian and European politics, international migration, American foreign policy, international law, international relations, globalization, and comparative politics and economics. A regular participant in political programs on television and radio, he has given over 1,500 television, radio, Internet and print interviews to media organizations in Russia, USA, Belarus, Ukraine, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom, Turkey, Serbia, Czech Republic, Poland, Turkey and other countries.
