BIO

Dr. Arabinda Acharya is currently Associate Professor of Homeland Security Studies at Rabdan Academy, Abu Dhabi. He is a former Associate Professor of IR at the National Defense University, USA. He worked for 12 years as Research Fellow and Head of Strategic Projects at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, before moving to the United States. He also serves as adjunct faculty in the Department of Geo-Politics at Manipal University in India, as well as Director of the Centre for Peace and Development Studies. He was an External Research Associate at the York University Joint Centre for Asia Pacific Studies (University of Toronto) and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Regional Centre for Strategic Studies in Colombo.
Dr. Acharya is Chief Consulting Editor with Terrorism Research & Analysis Consortium: TRAC and serves in the editorial board of a number of journals of international repute.
Dr. Acharya holds a PhD in International Relations (Australia), a MSc Strategic Studies (Singapore), a MA in Political Science and Bachelor’s degree in Law (India). His research interests are – Regionalism, Human Security, Terrorism & Political Violence & Maritime Security.
He has published 6 books and numerous articles in internationally reputed journals including Foreign Affairs, Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, Washington Quarterly, and Global Brief, among others.
